Stainless steel gas-liquid filter mesh, also known as knitted wire mesh or wire mesh demister media, is a specially knitted wire fabric designed to separate entrained liquid droplets from gas or vapor streams. Thousands of tiny interlocking loops form an open, porous and flexible structure that provides a large surface area with very low pressure drop. When a gas carrying fine liquid droplets passes through the mesh, the droplets collide with the wire surfaces, coalesce into larger drops, and then drain away by gravity — leaving clean, dry gas on the outlet side.
Just as durable woven wire mesh serves as the first line of defense in air vent screens protecting equipment from insects and debris, gas-liquid filter mesh serves as the last line of defense inside separation equipment, protecting downstream compressors, turbines and instruments from liquid carry-over and corrosion.
Materials
- Stainless steel: AISI 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 310S
- Other wires on request: galvanized steel, copper, brass, monel, nickel, and synthetic fibers (PP, PE, PTFE) or mixed metal-fiber knits
- Wire diameter: typically 0.10 – 0.30 mm; flat or round wire available

Fabrication & Supply
The mesh can be supplied in rolls, or fabricated into corrugated pads, round and rectangular blocks, discs and rings, with or without support grids. Folded edges and over-molding onto plastic or metal frames are available, and assembly alignment holes can be incorporated into the design. Both knitted and woven/welded wire meshes can be manufactured to the exact wire diameter and mesh count you require.
